Access Planning was thrilled to play a part in implementing an historic agreement between the Province of British Columbia and British Columbia’s First Nations. Just as decades of advocacy and negotiations were coming to a close, Access Planning was honoured to be brought in by the transition team to support the First Nations Gaming Commission under the leadership of the First Nations Leadership Council to establish a new Limited Partnership of all BC First Nations to receive, manage and distribute 7% of the BC Lottery Corporation’s net annual gaming revenues. This agreement guarantees a share of gaming revenues will be distributed to BC First Nations for 25 years for direct investment in community projects that support health and wellness; infrastructure, safety, transportation and housing; education, language, culture and training; community development and environmental protection, and capacity building, fiscal management and governance. The first distributions flowed to BC First Nations in October 2019. Learn more at: bcfngamingrevenues.ca
