This month, Access Planning was pleased to join SPUR and the Seamless Bay Area on a panel exploring integrated transit governance models from around the world that may have lessons for regional transit governance the Bay Area.
Tamim Raad, Access Principal, shared a Canadian perspective on the struggle for harmonized regional transit governance. He described, using four planning principles and a Metro Vancouver area case study, how a collective planning approach can foster regional cooperation over competition and how harmonized regional transit governance can lead to an outcome where a “rising tide lifts all boats.”
