Alexi Katsanis, PhD.

Alexi is a planner who is passionate about developing more thoughtful policy on transportation planning and climate change. He brings 7 years of experience working with public, private, and not-for-profit clients across Canada on projects related to transit planning and policy, universal design and accessibility, and commercial real estate development.
Alexi is based in our Halifax office. His work focuses on transportation policy and supporting clients to balance stakeholder interests in complex governance environments. At Access, he has worked on a wide range of projects including the modernization of TransLink's paratransit service, the City of Toronto's Parking Levy, and mobility hubs strategies and plans for the Toronto Parking Authority, the City of Montreal, and the Société de transport de l'Outaouais.
Prior to joining Access Planning in 2022, Alexi provided planning advice and guidance to Montreal's largest food justice not-for-profit, assisted the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts to become more accessible to museumgoers of all ages and abilities, and advised international logistics firms on corporate strategy and site-specific guidance for their operations in Canada.
Alexi holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Philosophy from Mount Allison University, a Master of Urban Planning from McGill University, and a Ph.D. in Engineering from École de technologie supérieure. Alexi is fluent in French.
