Anushka Thakkar, MPH, B.Plan.

Planning Associate

Anushka is a transportation planner and strategic policy thinker committed to making our cities more sustainable, accessible, healthy, and fun for all ages and abilities. She brings over 5 years of experience in policy planning, stakeholder engagement and data-driven decision-making across Canada and the US.

Based in our Toronto office, she works with clients across the country supporting them in strategic planning, evaluation, and communication for various mobility goals. At Access, some of her key projects have included the City of Toronto's strategic parking framework, analyzing ridership patterns for TransLink's Transit Service Performance Review, and helping Toronto Pearson airport develop strategies to improve transit connectivity.

Prior to joining Access in 2024, she worked at Smart Growth America, a national non-profit based in Washington DC, where she advanced the vision of the National Complete Streets Coalition through research, capacity building, facilitation and community engagement.

Anushka holds a Masters in Public Health from UC Berkeley where she was awarded the 2020 Research Excellence Award. She also holds a Bachelor's in City Planning from CEPT University, India and studied cycling cities at the University of Amsterdam.
