Tamim Raad, RPP
Principal and Chief Executive Officer
Tamim is co-founder, co-owner and CEO of Access Planning. He is a dedicated urbanist with over twenty-five years of experience shaping the strategic agenda in cities. Tamim brings leadership, vision and skill as a strategic planner, always maintaining a keen focus on driving to long-term objectives.
Tamim has strong business and political acumen and is adept at advising executives, boards and elected officials to shepherd difficult decisions through their fiscal, community and political realities. He has a proven track record of successfully tackling the toughest of urban problems, while systematically and collaboratively working through complex stakeholder and decision environments to get to outcomes that work.
Tamim brings direct public agency experience and perspective to his advisory work. For more than 15 years he led and directed project planning for complex transit and transportation infrastructure at TransLink.
Tamim currently sits on the Board of Directors for BC Ferries, North America’s largest ferry operator, where he chairs its visioning and major capital committees. Tamim is also an adjunct-professor at the University of British Columbia’s School of Community and Regional Planning.
Tamim holds a B.Comm and MA in Planning from the University of British Columbia (UBC) and a Diploma in Dialogue and Negotiation from Simon Fraser University (SFU).
