Access Planning  has been working with TransLink’s  First Nations Transportation Team  since 2023 to expand transit services to First Nations communities across Metro Vancouver. This work is part of  Access for Everyone, TransLink’s 10-year plan, which includes a commitment to  improving access to safe, affordable, and reliable transportation, including in on-reserve communities—an area previously outside TransLink’s mandate.

Our team is embedded within TransLink’s First Nations Transportation Team, providing expertise in: 

• Siting and designing  bus stop infrastructure 

• Strategic route planning  to enhance connectivity 

• Assessing on-demand transit  opportunities 

• Capital planning  to support long-term investments 

• Developing policies  for alternative transportation modes

By bringing  technical expertise and collaborative engagement, Access Planning is helping TransLink  advance sustainable, community-driven transit solutions that reflect the needs of First Nations communities.
